David is the owner. He didn't like owner, president, ceo, etc. So we call him the Managing Director, it's more action oriented. David has extensive experience in social services and technology. He began working as an overnight counselor at a shelter. From about 3 AM to about 5:30 AM he studied relational databases. Eventually he worked his way up to running a large data collection system with high demands for availability, integrity, and confidentiality. He has developed a specialty in information security and presents regularly on the topics of security and social services at national conferences and periodically at international ones. Occasionally, David succumbs to financial pressures and allows the group to work in the for profit world, most recently consulting to the government of Singapore (really). However, he spends much of his time expiating his guilt from this by bringing solutions from the for-profit sector into the often overlooked nonprofit one.
