Alisa is a licensed social worker who for the last 10 years has worked on behalf of those experiencing homelessness and poverty. She has moved from administrative work to direct service and back again. While she prefers to work directly with clients we have wooed her to the dark side of policy making. Fresh from providing direct services, Alisa understands first hand the impact of electronic data collection on staff and clients.
Recently, she expanded her work to include a focus on disaster preparedness. Alisa found herself as the only touchy-feely person in a graduate Global Emergency Preparedness and Response Program. In addition to learning such up-lifting subject matters as pandemic influenza, natural disasters, and bioterrorist risks, she also re-learned how to work with math and science types. Which is a good thing since Canavan Associates requires you to speak authoritatively on the Fibonacci sequence and quarks.
